How do you explain the roughly 10% three point success differential between men and women before the recent line changes ((35.23% vs 31.74% = 3.49)/35.25= 9.90%)?

Is there some kind of incremental improvement to this differential that we can reasonably expect to be gained by the recent change to the women’s three point line? If so what might be the basis for that expectation?

Since we’re all about equality here do you think it makes sense for ballers from women’s powerhouse basketball schools like Wellesley to start using the men’s size ball? If not why not?
